Supplies:
– Various Stamps
- Glossy cardstock
- 3 or more colors of ink
– Sponges or make-up applicators
One:
Tear off strips of masking tape. tear strips THINLY. Make sure the strips are THIN as they create a better effect the thinner they are.
To take some of the "stickiness" off the tape, attach the strips to clothing or cloth, and then pull off them back off. Some of the fibers will stick to the tape and your cardstock will not be torn as easily when you pull it back off from the paper.
Two:
Attach the tape on the glossy cardstock randomly all over.
Three:
Completely cover cardstock with tape until desired coverage is achieved.
Four:
Using the first sponge, dab ink onto card with first colour.
Five:
Repeat step 4 with a different ink colour.
Six:
Continue sponging on different ink colours until you are happy with end effect.
Seven:
Stamp images over taped cardstock. Collage-style stamping works well with this technique.
Eight:
Remove masking tape carefully from your cardstock.
Each month, we'll be bringing you a new technique to try. We'll also have several samples for you to see! Look to the bottom of this page for more samples.
